Lebanon Child Sponsorship

Lebanon witnessed violence both during the civil war of the 1970s and during the war with Israel in the 1980s. Wars have left deep lacerations in the social fabric and even today, the coexistence between ethnic groups is problematic. To these factors are added those related to the fragile political stability that is negatively reflected on the State that is inadequate to respond to the pressing needs of the population. In recent years, the country has also had to face strong waves of refugees from Syrian and Iraqi refugees and refugees, which have led to a further increase in the prices of basic necessities. In the suburbs of Beirot, more and more families live in conditions of extreme poverty, in overcrowded apartments that can not cope with daily needs.

Yes to life

Thanks to the project “Yes, to life” we support the activities of “Oui pour la vie” (OPV), an association of young Lebanese volunteers who, animated by an Italian missionary, work in their free time for disadvantaged and marginalized families. in Damour, south of Beirut. The Child Sponsorships allows the coverage of the school fees of 10 children, thus allowing the latter to receive adequate education and training. In addition to promoting education, the project supports the taking charge of emergency situations, especially with regard to refugees, through the search for temporary housing and financial support.
